The Route of Tea

Journey to the heart of Chinese tea

This journey will take us through the most famous – and most contrasting – tea regions in China.

We will start in Jingmai, Yunnan, among the mists and ancient forests of Pu'er tea; then head to Wuyishan, the birthplace of prestigious rock teas such as Dahongpao; then on to Anxi, land of Tieguanyin, to discover the refined art of oolong.
We will then go to Yixing, a mecca of craftsmanship, to model the clay and understand the magic of purple clay teapots; finally, we will end in Beijing, over a cup of popularly scented tea, in the heart of urban life.

At each stage, we will explore tea in all its forms — picking, processing, tasting, shaping — to experience a complete immersion in the world of Chinese tea, between culture, terroir and gestures.
