The Tea Route

A journey to the heart of Chinese tea

This journey will take us through the most famous — and most contrasting — tea regions of China.

We'll begin in Jingmai, Yunnan, amidst the mists and ancient forests of Pu'er tea; then we'll travel to Wuyishan, the cradle of prestigious rock teas such as Dahongpao. Next, we'll head to Anxi, home of Tieguanyin, to discover the refined art of oolong.

We will then travel to Yixing, a center of craftsmanship, to shape clay and understand the magic of purple clay teapots; finally, we will end in Beijing, over a cup of popular fragrant tea, in the heart of urban life.

At each stage, we will explore tea in all its forms — picking, processing, tasting, shaping — to experience a complete immersion in the world of Chinese tea, between culture, terroir and gestures.
